Here is an interesting mix of axles and wheel diameters:

In the above case, a tag axle (with the smaller wheels) was added in front of the main drive axle. The tag axle is shown in the lifted position.

Below are some examples of air-suspension tag axles that are lifted with a smaller rubber bellows:
