If the lifter requires a very low flow (say about 10 litres/min) it is normally acceptable to "steal" some oil from the compactor hydraulics. The pump for the compactor hydraulics delivers around 80 - 90 litres/min, therefore the compactor will slow down by only 10 - 13% if 10 litre/min is diverted to the lifter. but other companies also produce similar valves. Remember to select the valve for the highest flow in the system (the full output of the pump). In our experience, there must be no further flow regulators or flow divider valves after the diverter valve, because this creates too much back-pressure resulting in excessive oil temperatures. The only types of valves normally acceptable after a flow diverter are directional control valves and pressure relief valves. Flow diverter valves are also very susceptible to dirt in the oil. Fit the valve in such a position that it is easy to remove the spool for cleaning. The speed of the lifter is adjusted by turning the screw on the diverter valve. Please make sure that this adjustment is made with the oil at the normal operating temperature. And then make sure that the setting is tamper-proof. |
